School Readiness values parents’ opinions and time. We need your ideas to keep the School Readiness Program growing strong. Would you like to volunteer to be part of the Parents Are Important In Rochester PAIIR/School Readiness Advisory Council? The advisory council is a group of parents and community members who meet monthly September through May (except no meeting in December). The council:

  • Advises and assists staff in raising community awareness of the programs
  • Helps to monitor and suggest improvements for outreach for each of the programs
  • Provides a “sounding board” of community opinion for any new programs
  • Assists staff in setting long-range goals consistent with current trends and community needs

Most meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Northrop Education Center, 201 8th St. NW. Limited childcare for preschoolers and siblings is provided.

If you are interested in volunteering to be on the Advisory Council please call the PAIIR office at 328-4020 or call 287-2020 and ask for School Readiness.
