Parent Education Groups
|Thursday, January 30||6:00-7:30 PM||You are not the boss of me!|
If the only person you can MAKE BEHAVE is you, how do we build cooperation? Children have little true power in their day. When they feel powerless, they will assert power in undesirable ways. Let’s talk about ways we can build cooperation and get the outcomes we are looking for.
|Saturday, February 8||9:00-Noon||Easy to Love Difficult to Discipline|
Would you love to learn tools for holding your children accountable in away that they learn to do it better in the future. Would you love to go to bed at night without feeling guilty for the endless back and forth throughout your day? Conscious Discipline has the powers and skills you need. Conscious Discipline helps us become self-aware adults, so we can find our calm and share it with our children when they are feeling out of control.
|Tuesday, February 18||9:30-11:00 AM||Managing Emotional Mayhem by Becky Bailey|
As parents we can unintentionally dismiss, punish, save/rescue or ignore our children’s feelings. This can leave our children feeling frustrated, unheard and lacking important coping skills. Instead let’s look at how to increase our children’s feeling vocabulary and coach them through their emotional mayhem.
|Thursday, March 26||6:00-7:30 PM||Beyond Consequences, Time Outs/Loss of Privileges|
Do you feel like you have tried all of the above and behaviors are not changing? There is a time, a place and a way for all of these techniques to be effective, but there are other options. Intrigued? Then this is a class for you.
|Tuesday, April 14||9:30-11:00 AM||Math and Reading in your Home|
Home is our child’s first and most impactful school. Let’s look at fun and easy ways we can incorporate math and reading into our everyday interactions.
|Thursday. May 28||6:00-7:30 PM||Being an Assertive Parent/ Teach our Children to Advocate for themselves|
How you say it matters more than what you say. We’ll look at the ways we communicate with one and another and learn ways to “Say what we mean, mean what we say and then do what we said we were going to do.” You’ll learn some hands-on ways to clearly communicate, so you can increase the chances your children will listen, and actually hear you.
