The United Way of Olmsted County honored Families First with its Funded Program Excellence Award at a community event on April 24 at the International Events Center in Rochester.
The award is given to “a partner excelling in innovative approaches to address community needs, improving performance, partnering and collaborating, and creating significant impact.”
The United Way noted that “Families First is a leader in the field of early childhood education. The organization is well known for providing access to quality child care through its Head Start and School Readiness programs, but they do much more than that. Families First has continued to demonstrate partner excellence with their focus on educational equity, exemplary programming, building non-profit capacity, and leading the effort to best serve Olmsted County’s youngest residents.
